Refund Policy

At aLord Ashley Driving School, we are committed to providing quality education and services in accordance with our contractual obligations. By enrolling in our program, you acknowledge and agree to the following refund terms:

Non-Refundable Registration Fee:
Upon signing up, a minimum non-refundable fee of $50 is required. This fee secures your enrollment and covers administrative and scheduling costs. It will not be refunded under any circumstances, even if you cancel before the start of lessons.
No Refund Obligation:
Once instruction or services have been provided as outlined in the contract, we are under no obligation to issue any refund. Payment for services rendered is final.
Cancellations and Missed Lessons:
Lessons canceled by the student without proper notice (as defined in the student agreement) may result in forfeiture of that lesson or a rescheduling fee.
Cancellations due to verified medical or emergency reasons may be reviewed at the school’s discretion, but no guarantee of refund is made.
School Cancellations:
In the rare event that the school must cancel or discontinue a class or course, students will receive either a rescheduled session or a pro-rata refund for any unused, pre-paid portion of instruction.
Acknowledgment:
By submitting this enrollment form, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to this refund policy.

Additional Fees

The following fees may be incurred during your enrollment:

1 There is a $35 fee assessed for all returned checks.
2 A fee of $50 may be assessed for any session cancelled or missed without notification by close of business the day prior to the lesson. (NOTE: Sunday lessons must be cancelled by close of business Friday)
3 There is a $10 fee assessed for the replacement of a PDLA form.
4 A reinstatement fee of no more than $100 may be incurred should students fail to complete Driver Training within the one-year timeframe.

Request for Driver Education

I hereby request that I or my daughter/son be enrolled in Lord Ashley Driving School's (LADS) state-approved driver education course. This agreement is in effect for one year from the date listed herein. Should I or my daughter/son fail to complete this instruction within this one-year time period, all monies paid are forfeited and no refunds will be given for any reason.

Every and all reasonable effort shall be taken on the part of LADS to ensure all instruction will be offered during this one-year time limit. Average completion time for students is less than six months. LADS is not responsible for student obtaining a Beginners Permit or Driver's License within the one year time frame and is not responsible for extension of the contract or any refunds due to lack of obtaining Permit / Driver's License.

All instruction will take place in the Berkeley / Charleston / Dorchester County area and behind-the-wheel instruction will be offered as scheduling allows. I further understand and agree to the terms, rules, and conditions as outlined on all pages this agreement.

Vehicles used for behind-the-wheel training are state-certified and equipped with an automatic transmission, instructor brake pedal, and video camera.

Lord Ashley Driving School Agrees To:

1 Provide a classroom that meets South Carolina guidelines for classroom instruction.
2 Furnish certified driving instructors with properly marked Driver Training vehicles to students.
3 Abide by and enforce the laws of the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) during instruction.
4 Keep proper training records as required by the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles.
5 A refund of fees upon request should LADS be unable to perform driving instruction within the one-year timeframe as outlined in this agreement.
6 Offer additional lessons beyond the original Driver Training Package outlined on page one of this agreement at the published rate at the time of each additional 2-hour lesson.
7 Upon instructor approval, administer the South Carolina Road Test in a LADS vehicle. As part of the tuition paid, the student is eligible for one road test and one re-test, if necessary. No refunds will be given if the student / parent decides to take the road test at the Department of Motor Vehicles.

Student / Parent / Guardian Agrees To and Understands:

1 The full balance of the course must be paid prior to any behind-the-wheels lessons. A Certificate of Completion will not be issued if any balance / fees are owed.
2 All monies for uncompleted instruction after one year from the date of this agreement are forfeited.
3 Photos of students in the classroom, during behind-the-wheel instruction, and/or after the driving test may be used for promotional purposes. Students will only be referred to by first name in the use of these photos.
4 Students are under the Driving School's supervision during any scheduled instruction and lessons may be ended early should the instructor feel there is non-cooperation or that the student presents any impairment that may cause a safety issue (sleepiness, medication, etc.). Cancellation fees may be assessed due to rescheduling under this section.
5 Students will only be picked up / dropped off from school, work or home unless other arrangements are made at least 24 business hours prior to the lesson. Arrangements must be made by the parent / guardian for all minor students.
6 Dismissal may occur for failure to follow the Driving School Guidelines, rules, instruction, and South Carolina DMV laws, with no refunds. Students are expected to dress appropriately for all lessons and mature behavior is expected at all times.
7 Attendance and completion of this course in no way guarantees or implies a reduction in insurance premiums.

This agreement constitutes the full understanding of the parties as to the extent of their rights and obligations under this agreement. No oral or written statements or agreements made prior to the execution of this document shall modify the terms of this agreement. This agreement may not be amended unless such amendment is in writing, signed by all parties, and specifically indicates that it amends this agreement.

This agreement shall be construed in accordance with the laws of the State of South Carolina. The parties agree that all disputes arising under this agreement shall be submitted and finally settled by arbitration as provided for in the South Carolina State Statutes.
