To enroll in the Instructor Certification Course, applicants must meet the following requirements set forth by the SC Department of Motor Vehicles:
- ✓ Applicant must be at least twenty-one (21) years of age
- ✓ Applicant must be of good moral character
- ✓ Applicant must hold a valid South Carolina Driver's License
- ✓ Applicant must have no record of suspension of driving privileges for moving violations for the past three (3) years
- ✓ Applicant must have at least five (5) years driving experience and no suspension for three (3) years
Course Overview
A minimum of thirty-four (34) hours of formal classroom instruction in drivers education.
A minimum of six (6) hours of actual behind-the-wheel training in driving instruction.
Completion of a comprehensive written test to demonstrate knowledge and competency.
Course meets all South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles requirements.
Course Tuition: $1200.00
Complete certification course including classroom instruction, behind-the-wheel training, written test, and all necessary materials to become a certified driving instructor in South Carolina.
